Luka Žužić
Trombone & Piano & Jazz Harmony and Arrangement
Luka Žužić, born in Pula. At the age of six, he started playing the piano. In 1998 he enrolled in piano at the Ivan Matetić Ronjgov High School in Rijeka. Two years later he started playing the trombone, and in 2001 he attended the jazz seminar of B. Petrović in Grožnjan, where he attended piano and harmony classes with E. Spany and participated in a big-band workshop led by S. Feigl. In 2002 he enrolled in piano at the Music Academy in Zagreb, Rijeka Department, in the class of prof. V. Babina. In the same year he enrolled in trombone at the IM Ronjgov High School in Rijeka. Since 2005 he has been studying jazz trombone at the Universitat fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst Graz in the Ed Neumeister class. In 2008 he graduated piano at the Academy of Music in Zagreb and in 2012 he graduated from the Kuntuniversitat fur Dartstellende Kunst in Graz.
Since 2003 he has been a permanent member of the HGM Jazz Orchestra Zagreb, with whom he has had the opportunity to perform with some of the world's top jazz musicians such as John Reiley, Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker, Dave Liebman, Michael Phillip Mossman, Luis Bonila, Peter Erskine, Jim Mcneely ...
He performed with the orchestra of the same name in 2006 at the IAJE jazz conference in New York, and to this day he has toured extensively in Italy, Austria, Serbia, Macedonia, Germany, Sweden, Cyprus, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, China, Indonesia…
In 2010, 2015 and 2018, he won the Status Award in the jazz category.
In 2010 he played a tour of Europe with the European Jazz Orchestra conducted by T. Tomšić
He is currently playing, composing and writing arrangements for various Croatian performers. He plays and collaborates with Hgm Jazz Orchestra Zagreb, Big Band HRT, Symphony Orchestra HRT, Zagreb Philharmonic, Tamara Obrovac transhistrija electric, Edo Maajka, Kristian Terzić, Massimo Savić, Gustafi, Ensemble for Postmodern Art, Krunoslav Levačić, Mila Elegović, Gordanom Kovačić and with other artists ...
